Career Makeover Club Overview
Who should be a member?
-
If you are unemployed and uninspired about your job prospects
- If you are looking for a job but don’t know where to start
- Hate looking for a job
- Feel like you’re all alone
- Need help to get you going and keep you going
- Can’t afford to hire a career coach or counselor
What is the Career Makeover Club?
-
This is a group of people organized and coordinated by Dorothy Tannahill-Moran, Your Career Change Agent
- The CMC is designed to provide a support structure, job search education, resource sharing, inspiration and momentum for your job search. You don’t have to “go-it-alone.”
- CMC will meet weekly for 8 weeks, over the phone. Each session has a specific agenda for education and discussion. In addition, a private online forum is available exclusively for this group to provide group updates, progress reports, wins and timely resources sharing
What happens when the club is over?
- All members completing the club period automatically become eligible to be an alumni member. Specific monthly meetings will be held to help with ongoing support and sharing. The online forum remains available for communication and support.
- As other clubs form and complete, they will join the same Alumni group thus enriching the group with more diversity and experience.
What is the cost?
- The club cost is a fraction of what it would be if you hired a career coach. The cost is $200 which is $25 per meeting paid in advance or a payment schedule of 2 payments with the first half paid prior to the first club meeting and the second installment by week 4. I will usually offer a discount of early sign ups, paying the full fee upfront.
- Alumni meetings cost the same which will be $25 per meeting, billed monthly.
What can I expect to get out of it?
- You can expect to get valuable information about the job search steps, coaching for your specific challenges, and support from other members, resource sharing including job openings and accountability to help move you forward.
- The biggest thing you can expect is to feel confident about what you’re doing.
- The job club is not a placement service nor is there any implied or specific promise of job placement. Each member is expected to conduct their own job search and is responsible for their own results.
What are the meeting details?
- The club membership will be kept to no greater than 10 people.
- I plan to offer the CMC throughout the year. As people come forward to indicate their interest, I will select the time that matches with most people’s needs.
- I will make a teleconference line available and will record each meeting and post it so it can be replayed as needed by the members.
What to do it you want to join or have questions.
- You need to let me know now! I am limiting membership to ensure adequate coaching coverage.
